Web Desk — Pakistan’s pacer Shahnawaz Dahani is out of Asia Cup due to a side strain ahead of Pakistan’s high-octane clash against India on Sunday.
As the Men in Green prepare for a tough match against archrival India on September 4, in the Super4 round of the Asia Cup 2022, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the shocking news.
The young pacer as a result of a side strain was unable to participate in the much-anticipated clash. A day earlier, Dahani was injured during a game against Hong Kong in Sharjah.
After monitoring the vigorous player for 48 to 72 hours, the medical team will decide whether to conduct the pacer’s scans and if he can participate in the remaining matches of the tournament.
As Naseem Shah also suffered an injury in the first match against traditional rival India, Mohammad Hasnain and Hasan Ali will be considered as replacements.
Mohammad Wasim Jr. was ruled out due to fitness issues, while Shaheen Shah Afridi will move to London for his knee injury treatment.
