Australia to lift the Ashes 2021 trophy

Web Desk — Australia beat England by an innings and 14 runs in the Boxing Day Test to take a decisive three-match lead in the historical Ashes Series.

The series of failures of the English team in the Ashes between England and Australia did not go unnoticed and the Kangaroos took a decisive lead in the series by defeating the visiting team by an innings and 14 runs in the third Test. The English team managed to score only 185 runs in the first innings in which Captain Joe Root remained the top scorer with 50 runs.

On the second day of the Test, the Kangaroos scored 267 in the first innings. Opener Marcus Harris scored 76 to give his team an 82-run lead over England. In the second innings too, English batting proved to be a failure as the entire team returned to the pavilion for only 68 runs.

Scott Boland, playing his debut match, was declared man of the match for taking 7 wickets. The Australians have taken a 3-0 lead in the five-match series. The fourth Test of the series will be played in Sydney from January 5.
