Web Desk — When a fast bowler, known for getting others out, loses control of his mind, the results are unfavorable.
This happened in a T20 match against Zimbabwe, where Afghan fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq seemed to lose his rhythm and completely forgot his line and length. He bowled a six-ball overfilled with wides and no-balls, turning it into a 13-ball over.
On December 11, the first T20 match between Afghanistan and the host team Zimbabwe was played in Harare. Batting first, the Afghan team scored 144 runs for the loss of six wickets.
When Zimbabwe began their chase, Naveen-ul-Haq appeared to lose his composure and control over the ball. He ended up bowling a 13-ball over, making Zimbabwe’s task significantly easier. In that over, he bowled one no-ball and six wides.
The only positive in this over was that the Afghan bowler managed to take one wicket while conceding 19 runs.
Zimbabwe successfully chased Afghanistan’s target on the last ball of the match, with six wickets down. However, Afghanistan bounced back by winning the remaining two matches of the series, claiming the T20 series 2-1 against Zimbabwe.
