Web Desk — On its way to reform civil services, the Federal Government is going to introduce a Screening test before the written examination from the year 2022.
According to sources, the screening test will be a type of MCQs, and candidates with at least 33 percent marks will be able to appear in the written examination.
The decision to induct screening test for the CSS examination has been taken to effectively manage the increase in the number of candidates and to reduce the processing time from 20 to 12 months. FPSC also intends to introduce a Screening Test to filter the serious candidates for the written exam.
Former FPSC chairman Asif Hayat Malik first proposed the screening test for CSS candidates but his proposal was ignored. Later in 2019 chairman of Civil Servies Reforms Task Force Dr. Ishrat Hussain proposed a psycho-matric test to ascertain the ability and capability of candidates for different service groups. This proposal was rejected by the federal cabinet.
The screening test will be undertaken in one day only.
After a comprehensive discussion, the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Establishment Division.
