Pakistan Welcomes Gaza Ceasefire Truce

Pakistan welcomes Gaza ceasefire truce

Web Desk — Pakistan has expressed support for the recently announced Gaza ceasefire, urging its immediate and comprehensive enforcement in the conflict-stricken region.

In an official statement, Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized the hope that this truce would pave the way for a lasting ceasefire and facilitate enhanced humanitarian aid to those in need.

The spokesperson strongly condemned the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli occupation forces, which has resulted in significant loss of lives, widespread destruction of property, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians.

He highlighted that Israel’s expansionist policies continue to destabilize the region, adding to the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, the spokesperson called for a just, comprehensive, and enduring resolution to the Palestinian issue, one that ensures the creation of an independent State of Palestine based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The ceasefire agreement, brokered by Egyptian and Qatari mediators with U.S. support, entails a cessation of hostilities in Gaza and an exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners. This deal could mark the end of a devastating 15-month conflict that has wreaked havoc across the Middle East.
