Imran Khan Compromised With Establishment: Hamid Khan

Hamid Khan is one of Pakistan’s leading jurists and one of the founding leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). It would not be wrong to say that he gave his blood and sweat for the PTI and Imran Khan. Hamid Khan, who stood by Imran Khan in all difficult times, distanced himself from the party when it came to power. Why? Here are some excerpts from Hamid Khan’s interview with Nayadaur tv.

Web Desk — In an interview with Wasim Niaz, a journalist from Nayadaur tv, Hamid Khan said that the punishment meted out to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not on solid ground. People are still skeptical about the ground on which Nawaz Sharif was disqualified.

Case Against Nawaz Sharif

On the question that he was a PTI lawyer in the court against Nawaz Sharif, Hamid Khan said that he wanted an impartial commission to investigate the case against Nawaz Sharif but by forming that commission itself the Supreme Court took the role of investigative body which was not correct.

Imran Khan Compromise With Establishment

Hamid Khan said that he had detailed discussion with Imran Khan in 2015 regarding his relations with the Establishment. Imran said that without compromising with the establishment, the party would never come to power. That is why I am compromising in order to achieve the goal that you and I have in common.

Why Hamid Khan Angry With Imran Khan?

Explaining the reason for staying away from Imran Khan, Hamid Khan said that he was against taking the turn-coats to the party. The disadvantage of taking them into the party was a big compromise on their corruption. Hamid Khan said that he was against the inclusion of Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan in the party. People like Jehangir Tareen and Aleem Khan compelled Imran Khan to compromise with the establishment.
