Monitoring Desk — Former prime minister Imran Khan has once again warned the government of dire consequences if free and fair elections are not announced immediately.
Addressing the nation, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman said the country would move towards anarchy if general elections are not announced soon. Khan feared that things might reach a point of no return if his demand for a free and fair election is not accepted.
He claimed the present Shehbaz Sharif government could not steer the country out of the current economic problems. “The economic crisis would swell further if the present setup remains intact,” he added.
Khan said he would not be able to show restraint for a long time and that he will have no choice but to announce a protest call if general elections are delayed further.
