UAE Offers Work Permit For Teachers: How To Apply?

UAE work permit for teachers

Web Desk — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities have introduced a new work permit exclusively focused on education.

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) are offering the Private Teacher Work Permit to regulate the provision of private lessons for students outside education institutions.

The new education work permit helps specialized and qualified professionals conduct private lessons for students within the community, either individually or in groups.

This is an ample opportunity for certified teachers in public or private schools, government and private sector employees, individuals without employment, high school students aged between 15 and 18, as well as university students.

According to officials at the Ministry of Education, the purpose of the Private Teacher Work Permit is to ensure stability within the educational system. Besides, it also aims to offer adaptable options for students and parents that align with their needs and ambitions.

Khalil Al Khoori, Undersecretary for Human Resources Affairs, said the introduction of a permit for individuals qualified to provide private lessons would help curb illegal and unregulated practices when recruiting private teachers, which risk affecting the learning process as a whole.

The eligible candidates can submit a request through MoHRE smart application, website, and e-services system. The permit is granted free of charge for two years, enabling the holders to offer private lessons and generate direct income, provided they sign a ‘code of conduct’ document approved by the Ministry.

Likewise, it has also been warned that individuals who offer private lessons without a permit will be fined and penalties would be imposed on them.
