Web Desk — Twitter plans to roll out paid verification for its users soon. Having taken over Twitter last week, Elon Musk has asked employees to roll out by November 7 a $19.99 monthly subscription pack for Twitter Blue.
As reported by The Verge, Elon Musk has given an ultimatum to the employees to roll out a monthly subscription pack for Twitter.
Twitter Blue, currently, can be availed at $4.99 per month. It provides additional features like ad-free articles and a home screen icon that has a different color.
In near future, Twitter may offer paid verification for $19.99. Twitter users would be able to actually purchase the “Blue Tick” for the first. On Sunday, Musk tweeted that the company is “revamping” the current verification process.
Twitter’s new CEO also reportedly told employees that they must meet the deadline or “pack up and leave”, according to The Verge.
According to media reports, Musk may soon lay off as much as 50 percent of Twitter’s staff. It is said that the Twitter CEO is keen on making half of the company’s overall revenue through subscriptions.
