AUCKLAND: (Web Desk) New Zealand cricket team’s captain Tom Latham thanked the brilliant Pakistani authorities for keeping the Kiwi players safe during their stay in Islamabad.
Latham was addressing a news conference after the Kiwi squad arrived home on Wednesday after abandoning their tour of Pakistan.
“While we were there after the decision to cancel the tour, the Pakistan authorities were brilliant,” he said. “We certainly need to thank them.”
Latham said it was “naturally very disappointing” for Pakistan and their fans. “It was something they were very proud of,” he added.
The New Zealand team landed in Auckland after flying from Dubai and would spend the next 14 days in mandatory Covid-19 hotel quarantine.
