Web Desk — OXAGON -the largest floating industrial complex in the world will be launched shortly in NEOM’s city of Saudi Arab.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the launch of OXAGON as part of his vision 2030 program to keep the country abreast of the modern world.
A statement released by the Saudi Press Agency says OXAGON complements the same philosophy and principles of THE LINE, announced in January, and will offer exceptional livability in harmony with nature.
OXAGON Location
OXAGON is located on the Red Sea, close to the Suez Canal, and south to THE LINE. It will include the current port of Duba, which is now part of OXAGON.
Geographical Importance Of OXAGON
Roughly 13 percent of the global trade passes through the Red Sea, and OXAGON is positioned to be one of the world’s most technologically advanced logistics hubs with state-of-the-art integrated port and airport connectivity. This is how OXAGON’s geographical and financial importance is manyfold.
World’s First Supply Chain Ecosystem
NEOM will benefit from the first fully integrated port and supply chain ecosystem in the world established by OXAGON. Logistics and rail delivery facilities at the port will provide world-class productivity levels with net-zero carbon emissions, setting global benchmarks in the adoption of technology and environmental sustainability. The net-zero city will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy.
Core of OXAGON Industrial Development
“The core of OXAGON’s industrial development is comprised of seven sectors, with innovation and new technology serving as the foundation. These are sustainable energy, autonomous mobility, water innovation, sustainable food production, health and well-being, technology and digital manufacturing (such as telecommunications and robotics), and modern methods of construction, all powered by renewable energy,” the statement added.
The urban landscape of OXAGON reflects many of the characteristics of THE LINE that allow exceptional living. Communities will be walkable or have access to hydrogen-powered transportation. Sustainable industries will be built around the communities, minimizing commute times and offering exceptional living, the statement further said.

NEOM Location
With a total area of around 26,500 square kilometers, the Neom project is located in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia in the northwest of the Kingdom, along with the Aqaba Gulf and 468 km of coastline with beaches and coral reefs, as well as mountains up to 2,500 meters high.
NEOM Controversy
Reportedly, Saudi residents have opposed the developments of Neom, which would relocate 20,000 residents, including members of the Bedouin tribe. Also, a tribesman allegedly was shot dead for refusing to give up his land, causing humanitarian concerns.
