Muslim Schoolboy In London Forced To Stop Praying

Muslim Student forced to stop praying in London

By Web Desk — The teacher who physically stopped a Muslim schoolboy from praying in London called it an “act of defiance.”

Thaher Tarawneh, 12, was forced to pray outside because his school’s prayer room was closed.

While praying in the playground of the newly opened Ark Soane Academy, Taher and his friends were aggressively interrupted and told to “stop at once.”

While his friends fled, Tarawneh continued to pray. During this time, a member of staff allegedly grabbed him around the waist and removed his blazer from the floor, which he was using as a prayer mat.

He was then sent home for the afternoon and forced to sign a statement that he said was not accurate.

According to Arab News, Taher’s father told MyLondon that nobody had the right to challenge their belief. Taher’s father further said: “Thaher knows to not stop his prayer unless there is something urgent. So for this member of staff to interrupt that and then proceed to manhandle my son, it’s not acceptable.”

Tarawneh’s parents want to remove him from school, saying he is being discriminated against because of his religion.
