Web Desk — The Foreign Ministry has released the names of 21 Pakistanis who survived the tragic boat accident in Morocco.
According to the ministry’s spokesperson, rescue operations are being monitored closely, and immediate assistance has been provided to the affected individuals through the Pakistani diplomatic mission in Rabat. The embassy arranged essential items for the survivors, including food, water, medicines, and clothing.
The spokesperson further stated that the consular team from the Pakistani embassy is currently present in Dakhla, where local authorities have provided shelters and medical facilities following the embassy’s request. The Foreign Ministry is in close contact with Moroccan officials to ensure all possible assistance for the victims.
Repatriation Efforts Underway
The spokesperson added that efforts are ongoing to facilitate the repatriation of the survivors. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of Pakistanis residing abroad.

Background of the Incident
It is important to note that on Thursday, a boat carrying migrants from Mauritania to Spain met with an accident, resulting in the death of 50 people, including 44 Pakistanis.
According to news agencies, the boat carrying 86 migrants departed Mauritania on January 2. Among the passengers were 66 Pakistanis. A total of 36 individuals were rescued from the tragic incident.
Of the 44 Pakistanis who lost their lives, 12 were residents of Gujarat, while others were from Sialkot and Mandi Bahauddin.
