Mel Gibson’s Controversial Wildfire Conspiracy Theory
Web Desk — Actor Mel Gibson has sparked controversy by sharing a conspiracy theory about the “convenient” circumstances surrounding the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
During an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Gibson speculated whether the fires were deliberately “commissioned” to force people off valuable properties.
Gibson Questions Intent Behind the Fires
“I can make all kinds of horrible theories up in my head—conspiracy theories and everything else—but it just seemed a little convenient that there was no water,” Gibson remarked. He pointed to the ideal wind conditions and suggested the involvement of individuals “ready, willing, and able to start fires.”
Gibson questioned whether these alleged arsonists were “commissioned” or acting independently. “They seem pretty well equipped, some of these people that LA police arrested,” he added.
Concerns About Water Management in California
The actor also criticized California’s water management, alleging that water reserves were intentionally misused. “They’ve been messing with the water, letting reserves go for one reason or another. California has a lot of problems that baffle the mind as far as why they do things,” he said.
Gibson hinted at a larger agenda, asking, “Is this on purpose? It’s an insane thing to think, but one begins to wonder if there’s a purpose behind it. What could it be? Do they want the state empty? I don’t know.”
Broader Criticism of Governor Newsom
Gibson isn’t the only one voicing frustrations over the wildfires. Heated debates about the state’s wildfire management have erupted, with President-elect Donald Trump criticizing California Governor Gavin Newsom. Trump referred to him as “Gavin Newscum” and blamed him for the state’s lack of preparedness.
Joining the criticism, Gibson took a swipe at Newsom, suggesting he should “spend less on hair gel.” While not a supporter of Trump, Gibson admitted, “I’m not a big fan of either.”
Personal Loss Fuels Gibson’s Frustration
The actor, who also lost his home in the wildfires, expressed a sense of inevitability about the disaster. “One always suspects that this might happen,” he told Ingraham.
As conspiracy theories and political tensions continue to swirl around California’s wildfire crisis, Gibson’s remarks have added to an already contentious debate.
