Indian SC Reprimand Ekta For Polluting Young Minds

Web Desk — The Supreme Court of India on Friday reprimanded television mogul Ekta Kapoor saying: “You are polluting minds of the young.”

According to Mint, India’s apex court made the remarks while hearing a petition challenging the issuance of arrest warrants for the producer in connection with allegedly denigrating soldiers and hurting the sentiments of their kin by airing a web series on OTT medium ALT Balaji.

The SC said, “Something has to be done. You are polluting the minds of the young generation of this country. It is available to all. OTT (Over The Top) content is available to all. What kind of choice are you providing to the people? You are polluting the minds of youngsters.”

The top court also warned Ekta against regularly approaching the apex court saying it will “put a cost” on her for filing the petition. “Every time you travel to this court….we don’t appreciate this. We will put a cost on you for filing such a petition.”

Ekta, born, daughter of Bollywood star Jeetendra, is the recipient of several accolades. She is considered as India’s most influential showbiz personality who holds great sway over the Indian television industry.
