Britney Spears quits stage-performance

Web Desk: American singer Britney Spears announces not to perform any more unless the conservatorship she has been under for 13 years comes to an end.

Britney Spears’ father Jamie Spears has sole control over his daughter’s $60 million estate under the court-appointed conservatorship that was set up in 2008.

In her lengthy Instagram post the pop star made some emotional comments about the conservatorship. “I’m not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think,” the Circus star said.

The 39 year old singer after having mental issues has not performed in public since late 2018.

Spears has hired a new lawyer to represent her in her bid to bring the conservatorship to an end. Calling the conservatorship abusive, the piece of me singer said the conservatorship had ruined her career.

The filmmakers behind “Framing Britney Spears” say the documentary gave spears the courage to speak against the conservatorship.
