Web Desk — After bad quality cooking oil, bread and confectionary items, cheap Iranian dairy goods have occupied place in the Pakistani markets.
Pakistani buyers might be benefiting from these minimal expense Iranian merchandise, yet the local producers are exceptionally enraged over the rising presence of smuggled Iranian dairy items.
CEO Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA) Dr Shehzad Amin says the smuggled Iranian dairy items are present in retail shops of Karachi, Sukkur, Islamabad, Lahore, Sargodha, Peshawar and Jhelum.
He said the the infiltration of these items in the Pakistani markets can be controlled through severe border monitoring.

The dairy items including UHT dairy cream, fluid milk, enhanced milk, yougurt, cheese, dairy milk, gouda cheese, cheddar cheese and ricotta cheese have lower price than the locally produced dairy items.
Giving example, he said a locally made top notch dairy cream costs Rs140 (200ML) though its Iranian partner is selling at Rs100-110.
Dr Shehzad Amin said that the locally made fluid milk is accessible at Rs160 per liter while the smuggled item can be bought at Rs100-115. Smuggled enhanced milk is 18-20 percent less expensive than the locally made item selling at Rs50-70 (little pack).

He said the PDA had informed the Punjab Food Authority and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Customs (Policy) that the presence of smuggled items are causing revenue losses as well as are an unmistakable infringement of labellling prerequisites of SRO237 as well as pertinent quality and nourishment guidelines of the commonplace and government food authorities.
