LONDON: (Web Desk) the United Kingdom has removed Pakistan and Turkey from the “red list” for travel during the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to British transport minister Grant Shapps Egypt, Oman, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kenya, and the Maldives will also be no longer on UK’s red list for travel from September 22.
Since removal from the red list, Pakistanis will not be quarantined on arrival in the UK. On the other hand, people coming to the UK from high-risk countries will have to spend 10 days in quarantine on arrival in the UK.
Friday’s decision is part of a bid to simplify London’s travel restrictions due to the pandemic, with Shapps saying that destinations would now simply be ranked low or high risk, instead of red, amber, and green.
